Manometry

Esophageal Manometry Test; Manometry is a test that measures muscle pressures within an organ. Esophageal manometry test measures the pressure and coordination of the peristalsis wave in the esophagus as well as the pressure of the sphincter mechanism located at the lower end of the esophagus (LES pressure).

Anorectal manometry is the most important test used in the diagnosis and treatment of fecal incontinence, gas incontinence or difficulty defecating. It is performed to evaluate the functions of the anal sphincters (internal and external) and the rectum.
